Chunk Media presents the comedy short CHUNK, starring Shannan Calcutt as Izzy. CHUNK follows a boy-crazy clown on a fitness kick, anxious to lose the chunk that is interfering with her happiness. A modern clown with a fresh twist on physical comedy, Calcutt's performance is in the tradition of such great contemporary clowns as Lucille Ball, Buster Keaton and Rowan Atkinson.
Directed by Pamela Anthony, CHUNK shows Izzy tackling all the popular perfecting methods at once - slimming patches, dieting, and the gym - expecting life-changing results in just one day. An earnest trainer, a playground of gym equipment and lots of hot men provide ample comic fodder. Eventually, Izzy finds her own solution to the pressure of looking good.
CHUNK is a collaborative production centered on the clown work of award winning artist Shannan Calcutt. The short film was produced by David Cheoros, shot and edited by Clinton Carew, with music by Dave Clarke. It was shot on location in Winnipeg, with additional photography and post production in Edmonton.
23 minutes ~ Shot on DVCam 16:9 ~ available in beta, Digibeta, VHS, DVD
